Last Wednesday I got finger printed as a next step in becoming a Notary Public and today I got my commission number (good for 4 yrs!) and I have 30 days to file my oath & bond with the county clerk then I can notarize documents! yay!
Oh and I have to order my official seal. Thankfully I was given a list of authorized Notary Public seal manufactures. Now I have to look for the list of bond companies that was given at the training in August. I’m sure I have it in my notary folder and that’s under my school books.

16 days down...12 weeks to go!
after 16 agonizing days I finally heard back about the Notary Public exam I took on August 18.
now I have to be fingerprinted for a background check. According to the California Secretary of State, this could take anywhere from 10-12 weeks after my finger prints have been submitted. If I don't hear back after 12 weeks I need to call.
16 days was killer in waiting for my exam score. 2 1/2 to 3 months just might drive me crazy!
With a 73% I passed!!

So you want to be a Notary Public
On August 18, 2010 I will be attending a seminar on becoming a Notary Public. That same day, I will take a 2 hour test (and hopefully pass) so that I can be one step closer to being a Notary Public. If you live in California and would like more information, click here:

Yup, I registered and paid for the seminar that’s to take place on the date mentioned above. After the seminar, I take the test. After the test, I get the results...15 days to a month later! Passing is a 70.
Either I’ll obsess about those 15 days to 30 days or I’ll be so busy with school stuff that I’ll forget until someone asks me or I get the pass (or fail, though I hope not) letter in the mail. The end of September I should know one way or the other. Should I not pass, I can test again. I hope I doesn’t come to that though.

I want to live here if I don’t move
If I could, I'd totally buy this house!
Sadly, to afford the nearly $1700 mortgage payment (and that’s from putting $16000 down!), I’d have to make roughly $3400 a month. The other half would go towards bills, and more than likely car & insurance.
*sighs*
Also, if I had a house like that, I’d totally have to buy new furniture lol and since its 3 rooms, I could have an office and guest room. That’s cool!
In other news, Thursday or Friday I looked up what it would take to become a Notary Public. It doesn’t seem like much work. There’s like 7 steps and in 8 months to a year you’ll become official.
I need to do more research on it, but it looks like it might be a decent thing to do to make addition money. From the salary searches I did, it looks like they’re paid decently.
Like I said, more research (and possibly saving for the $200 in fees) is needed before I make a final decision.
