Say what?!

Thursday (8/12) I started a new class and the first assignment (besides the usual reading) was a 10 question quiz. No big deal. I felt I did really well on it until I submitted it (it's an online class) and saw that 4 of them were marked wrong, well right below it was the correct answer and with the exception of adding the word 'the' (things have to sound grammatically correct in my brain) or leaving out the word 'in', the answers were correct.

I wasn't the only one who had this problem. Turns out there's something wrong with the computer program the school used and rather than manually change the grades for everyone, they decided to make the quiz not have any points, therefore it doesn't count against our grade in the class, and the points the quiz would have been worth have now been added to the 2 assignments we have.

I know the quiz doesn't count anymore, but it's still going to bug me that the answers were marked wrong when they are right.

I took the final for the class, anticipating that when I got home from today’s activities, I wouldn’t have it in me so do it (and I don’t but I still have some discussion questions to complete in the next 3 hrs). The grade for the was 85% and I got 100% on both assignments. No telling how my final grade is going to end up with the reshuffling of points.

right now I’m so sleepy!

I've been at the Marriott since 830 am and it's now 842 pm (I've actually been home for about 40 minutes).

I had my seminar and testing to become a notary public, and let me say it seems easy, but there's quite a bit of stuff to remember. Also, I'm SO GLAD I don't have "disposable" income. let and right they were trying to get people to buy the "tools of the trade" - stamp, notary journal, notary commission seal, thumb print pad and various other things a Notary Public would need. My whole mindset was, let me find out if I pass (70% or 9 missed questions passes you) before I buy all that addition stuff. Plus, I still have to do live scan fingerprint (background check with FBI & DOJ). There was people who readily paid almost $230 for the day not knowing if they passed (the test or the background check!) and you don't get your money back if you don't pass and you have to pay again to retake the test.

In 15-20 days I should know if I passed the exam, then it'll be another 8-10 WEEKS before I know/am licensed as a Notary Public. At the very least, I should be able to start out 2011 saying that I'm a Notary Public.

the wrap up

I believe August 3rd was the last time I made an entry of substance. Since then nothing really has gone on. lol I went to work on Friday, Harvest crusade on Saturday, and church on Sunday.

Monday I did nothing. Tuesday...week since my last update. Earlier I went to the library to return an overdue book (I now have almost $1 in fines. oops), went to the grocery store to turn in some pennies (and a dime lol...got $8.47) and pick up some food for myself as well as the cat. I also picked up a DVD titled PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal. I don’t know if I’ll watch it tonight, but I plan on watching it this week - during the daytime of course lol

Friday I go to work, Saturday I’m spending the night a friend. She needs my help with some stuff and Sunday I’ll need a ride to church so we kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak. Hopefully I watch or borrow The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe because I’ve been wanting to see it again for ages and haven’t been able to find it any places that sell movies.

I found out from a friend that this dude I’ve been writing has a girlfriend in Houston. He’s written me since I’ve found this news out, but I haven’t written him back. I rather not, but I need to. Anything that I was beginning to feel for him is now gone. I just don’t want to deal with him...or the situation.

I was looking at my finances and I’m 2 months from having my last credit card paid off! I still have 1 or 2 bills from stupid book/music of the month or whatever clubs that I need to pay and come 2012 I’ll have a student loan to repay, but between October 2010 and 2012 when my loan repayment begins, the only bill I will have is for my cell phone! YAY! Now I can start saving for that trip to *insert location from my list of places to visit*!

Can’t think of anything else. Think I’ll start on dinner, finish this Miss Marple dvd I’m watching and wait for America’s Got Talent to come on tonight.

DHS c/o 2000 10 year Reunion

My 10 year reunion was July 31. It was more fun than I thought it would be. There was drunken flirting, lots of laughing at old school pictures, good Italian food and lots of exchanged phone numbers for more summer fun.

So many times throughout the night I heard, "Are you on facebook?", "make sure to put the pictures up on facebook" and I think my favorite was "omg you're that girl with the TV show on facebook!" Her show isn't about facebook, but episodes are put on facebook.

I thought it was going to be weird seeing my old high school crushes (yes, I had many through the 4 years at that school) again, but it really wasn’t. I still see why I had the crush on them, but we’re 10 years older now so it’s nothing.

There were many I would have bet money on that would have been there, but they weren’t. That was rather surprising to me. Many people who said they’d be there but in the end weren’t. And many who I wouldn’t have thought would be there, were there.

I know without facebook this reunion probably wouldn't have happened.

One (of the few) thing I was bummed about is that I didn’t bring extra batteries for my camera. I maybe got 7 pictures before the camera died. Waiting for others to post their pictures...and there’s shot that I really want - the group shot. I want to see if I can be seen in it.

Hopefully it won’t be another 5-10 years before we see each other again!
