I’ve finally gotten a schedule that I hope won’t be in a constant state of flux.
Monday –Friday is school for me
Monday & Tuesday are tutor days (possibly other days during the week, but without pay, I’m sticking to those 2 days)
Wednesday – Sunday are saved for church events.
Come summer, Mondays & Tuesdays will probably be me days. That’s pretty much everyday, but I’d like to have days where I can go back to riding the bus & train for fun…just to get out of the apartment or something.
Also looks like I didn’t get the Everest College job. I interviewed on the 13th and was told to take a test and call on the 14th. I did that and didn’t get a return call. My friend who set me up on the interview said to call back on 18th so I did. Again, no return call. After that I decided that I wasn’t going to worry about it. Yeah it kind of irks me that the Director I interviewed with made it seem like I’d have some kind of job there and hasn’t returned either of my calls. Right now I’m like whatever and will concentrate on school.
• Introduction to Computers ended today. I got a 94.5% in the class. That’s an A baby!
• Tuesday my next class starts. It’s called Word I. It ends on February 1st. I’m sure it’s another class I’ll pass with an A.
• February 2nd I start Word II and that goes until February 8th.
• February 9th is when I get into a territory that I’m probably not that familiar with – Word Processing for the Law Office. That class is also a week long.
• In March, I have 2 classes that are each 10 days long
• In April I have a class that’s 15 days – pretty much the whole month.
• Then there’s another 5 day class followed by 6 classes that are 10 days each.
• Then 2 classes that are 5 days, a class that’s 10 days, a class that’s 15 days, a class that’s 10 days and a class that’s 5 days.
If my counting is correct, by the end of September, I will have finished ALL my fundamental level courses and will get to move to the advanced level courses at the beginning of October!
During all this school time, I will hopefully get a laptop between February 15th and February 26th. Also, during the summer, I will be in AZ for a few days (possibly a week) for a conference (maybe) and probably some other trips. Hopefully I’ll be able to have internet access and the time to devote at least an hour a day to doing school work so I don’t fall behind.
Just thinking about all this school stuff has me excited yet I feel like going “OMG! What have I gotten myself into?!”

Blur
This weekend has been a blur of emotions, resolutions and laughter.
I decided if I ever got a "biker" nickname, it has to be Shy Girl. My personality around people that I know and am familiar and comfortable with (and don't have a crush on lol) is out going, but when I'm around other people, I'm a shy girl. My Aunts always tell me "don't be so shy Lizet!" even my cousin tells me that (she gets embarrassed at the sight of penises and lingerie and is out going all the time...I'm pretty much the complete opposite lol)
Friday I went a home revival with my cousin. Tears, resolutions and Norms to eat.
Saturday I went to another home revival with my cousin. More tears, resolutions, an unexpected trip to the VA Hospital and then Jack in the Box. I’ve never seen a person die, and thank God I didn’t have to this day. I had to distract myself by watching the last 10 minutes of The Green Mile and Steven Segal: Lawman, and I was still feeling weird. Luckily we were leaving and I didn’t have to feel that way anymore. We stopped at Jack in the Box on the way home, then laughed and joked for an hour and a half. It was almost 4 am by the time I went to sleep...on a cold tile floor! OMG that was cold!
Sunday I was up at 630 am, dressed, and out of the apartment with my cousin by 730 am. OMG too freaking early! Got to church, had a cup of coffee (I’m not a coffee drinker, but if I continue to go to church with my cousins, then I need to have it to wake & warm me up). Loved all the singing we did. I like singing, even if my voice tends to give out fast. The service was really good. It was the last day of a 3 day “home” revival. Went to lunch after - there were 12 of us. Of course there’s sure to be fun with that many people. I wasn’t hungry much. The greasy Jack in the Box from Saturday and the 1 cup of coffee earlier in the day was not agreeing with my stomach. I ordered something light (and inexpensive) ½ order of fried zucchini and a diet coke. So much for me eating that! There was 8 long strips of fried zucchini and I was only able to eat 3 of them! LOL the rest I took home. After, my cousin, Chad, Oscar and I went to do some shopping. Cynthia and I can’t go in public with these guys! But we had fun in Smart & Final. lol We went back home, I gave Cynthia a pedicure and tried to watch some football. I didn’t succeed. I fell asleep for about 30-45 mins, woke up, had a frozen coffee and talked movies with Oscar, my Uncle and his friend.
Last night was also Cynthia’s bachelorette party! So much fun! And as it’s a bachelorette party, I can’t give out any other info. But yes, much fun. Makes me wonder who’s going to be the next to get married…

and the school bus rolls on...
I found the outline of courses I'd be taking for my Paralegal Degree. It's roughly 91 weeks long. Including the class I'll be finishing on Monday, 4 of the "Fundamental Level Courses" will be doing things I already know how to do - Introduction to Computers, MS Word and Internet. I suspect Word Processing for the Law Office might be something I know how to do, but I won't know for about a month (when the class starts)
my next course is roughly 2 weeks of MS Word. Another course I'm going to have to force myself to take my time with. But this time, I will really take my time. No jumping ahead or (hopefully) no lagging behind. I don't want any mistakes on my part.
Time to get ready for work. Its rainy out and it'll probably take longer to get there...or something like that.

not what I expected
Against my better judgment I went on with the test for my first course. It was scheduled for Monday but I thought I'd be too partied out from this weekend to even think about a test on Monday!
Well I'm taking the test and typing up some stuff for an answer and I guess in my speed I clicked some keys and the computer crashed or shut down or something! All I know is when the computer came back on and I went to Blackboard my test was submitted!
I frantically called and e-mailed my student adviser and no response. e-mail the instructor and he was able to reset it for me.
Awesome!
It took me twice as long the 2nd time because I was making sure I didn't accidentally press something to make the same thing happen because it wouldn't be deleted a 2nd time. Gotta remember that for future tests!
I took the test and was able to see my preliminary results. I missed 5. no big deal.
well no if my breakdown in the points is correct.
this test was worth 80 points.
80-64=A
63-48=B
47-32=C
31-16=D
15-0=F
If I just miss the 5, I still get an A. In fact, I can miss up 16 and still get an A! But I don't think I missed that many!
anyways...stuff to do before my dad gets home and I leave for a few hrs tonight.

this Blackboard thing may be good after all
So my online classes are done through Blackboard. At first I was meh about it. I don't really like discussion board type places, but I guess for online classes it works out well.
In my easy Intro to Computer class, going to the discussion board, posting and replying to 2 classmates counts for 40% of your grade. eek! You can go from an A to a D in the class by not going to the discussion board!
Also, homework assignments are submitted through Blackboard in the Drop Box. Tuesday I turned in an assignment. It was supposed to be 250 words. I turned in 236 words (or there abouts). I got a 95%. It's still an A but omg!
Well today I was checking the drop box and saw that the assignment was graded/commented on and reposted. awesome! Now I have it for my records.
I guess Blackboard isn't going to be too bad. I just wish spell check was used by the posters in the discussion board. I think it's the same 2 or 3 people who have spelling errors...and with the same words too.

what gives?!
its been something like 6 days since I've interviewed at Everest College. I'm trying not to think anything about it, since they're in the process of moving to a new location in the building, but it's beginning to worry me.
I was told to call on Friday and got no return call. Then I was told to call on Monday and again no return call. I don't think I'm going to call a 3rd time. Id really like to know if they got my test results...or if I need to take the hour test again.
*sighs*

my online classes start tomorrow...
and the first class is Introduction to Computers.
OI!
This is going to be a loooong week! I'm going to have to force myself to take it a day at a time because going to the discussion board, posting an answer to the question and replying to 2 classmates counts for 40% of my grade!
I'd really hate to get anything below an A in a class this simple...

I was going to update about this dream I had and how it made me feel and blah blah blah but now it seems kind of petty so I won't.
Have a welcome home party to go to in a few hrs. have to walk 3 blocks in the rain...unless my dad is home by then and can drop me off. I doubt it, so I need to find something warm to wear.
oh! this is also the first time, since before Christmas, that I've been broke a week before payday...and there's lots going on this weekend. I'm going to feel like such a loser...actually, I already do :(

+/- format
- My Aunt was in the hospital since 9 or 10 this morning. She was complaining about shortness of breath and severe stomach pains. Later diagnosis was gallstones. Since they weren't infected, the ER couldn't admit her. My cousin made an appt with her primary Dr for tomorrow at 1020 am. Hopefully they agree that she's in enough pain to remove the stones/gallbladder.
+ She is home resting as comfortably as possible considering the pain she's in. (- Won't get to see her until she's out of surgery)
+ A childhood friend of mine messaged me about a job. Admissions Rep for Everest College in Gardena. Cool! She was informed about it about 2 hours ago and I guess I was the first person she thought of. yay! The interview is tomorrow at 1 pm. Had to rush to get my resume and career portfolio updated/in order.
+ I get to see him tomorrow night! Still weary about the information I was told about him, but at least I get to see him.
+ School starts January 19th - at least the online classes I'm taking. I'm very anxious/excited about this. I haven't heard from either of the two Reps I've been working with as to when I'll get books/course material. I do know that in about a month, if my grades are good, I'll be getting a laptop...going to e-mail again tomorrow
I guess that's everything. I should get in the shower and pull out my clothes for the interview. Wish me luck!

no I'm not going to be up until 4 am...at least I don't think I will
since I slept for like 8 hours (4 pm to midnight) I have all this energy but I keep yawning.
I think the weekend is catching up with me. If I'm going to continue going out on the weekends like I did this past one, I'm going to definitely need to take naps! or pick up a coffee drinking habit (which I kind of had since spending so much time with my cousins)
I finished watching Ghost Rider, reorganized my DVDs and now I'm searching for a song I keep hearing on my shuffle that isn't on iTunes...and now apparently isn't on my shuffle either? Has any one had that happen? hear a song in it's entirety and when you go to look for it (for the name or artist) can't find it on your player or iTunes? Rather frustrating! But I know the name of the song and who sings it so I was able to look for the lyrics to add to my "date" journal.
Umm I don't know what else to say. I guess I go organize my recently posted entries, download some music and go back to bed.

Been kind of MIA for a while
Got back in touch with a friend/cousin and been hanging out with her family & friends. Lots and Lots of fun!
Jan 3rd after my cousin's Bridal Shower. We went to her fiancé's apartment to drop off the gifts and ended up hanging out there until 1 or 2 am!
Then Friday I went to Bible Study with them. I got home at a decent hour then - 11 pm.
Saturday was a fun day. Pizza, hardcore crushing and Avatar 3D! Didn't get home until 3 am and didn't go to bed until 4 am!
Tonight...err Sunday night we watched the Packers/Cardinals game, then went to my cousin's fiancé's apartment for a "family" dinner. That was fun. And then I had kind of a let down and had a little cry.
It feels like I'm being overly dramatic, but if I could stop, I would. I didn't realize I'd feel the way I felt after 4 days and it feels kind of childish but my Aunt and cousin are like "don't pull away" but I don't want to get hurt and meh! it's almost like high school all over again.
I'm NOT going to be up until 4 am! I'm going to bed now because I have a lot of cleaning to do that I neglected over the weekend. haha

this isn't cool!
I may be the lowly secretary here and the office is somewhat cluttered, but I can find stuff without any problems.
Last April I went on a 2 week vacation and my office was "cleaned". A bag of about 15 plastic table covers were tossed! THEY WERE STILL GOOD! That was the first thing I noticed missing. The over the summer, well actually around Halloween, Target had some orange & yellow plates and napkins so I picked up some for the church's Thanksgiving dinner. Guess what! when I needed them, those too were missing!
Now I'm trying to redo the bulletin board and I need my decorations that I'd collected over the 8 years I've been working here. It's not much, but I BOUGHT IT WITH MY MONEY so it means A LOT to me! Valentine's Day, Easter and St. Patrick's Day decorations MISSING!
WHAT THE HELL!?
Oh wait...some Easter stuff was left. 2 bunny & egg borders were left and that's because they were in a box of balloons (which, I've never seen before)!
Not cool tossing my stuff. Makes me NOT want to put forth any addition effort to make things not look so plain and crappy.
And if my stuff hasn't been tossed, just moved someplace else...still not cool because I don't know where it's at and that does me no good!
